350: The Number That Marks Our Doom

CO2 levels have reached record highs. The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere now stands at 387 parts per million (ppm). This news comes hot on the heels of a report by a top NASA climatologist which calls for CO2 levels to be reduced to 350 ppm to avoid the "possibility of seeding irreversible catastrophic effects."

In a radio interview with CBS News, President Bush said the continual rise in gasoline prices have been one of the major hindrances to the economy growing strongly.
